33. Kuching Trip

Earlier this month 3-5th September, I went to Kucing with Kak Nurul and Sweet. As to overcome my jealousy over Azy's trip to Perth, Enon's to Maldives and so on. Due to financial constraint, the best i can do was "Cuti-Cuti malaysia". After all, my flight ticket was only RM138/return. We stayed in Grand Continental Kuching and rent a car from kuchingcarrentalcheap.com where it was straight from the airport. It not that expensive cause it was divided by 3.

First day, we arrived at the airport at 11.30am. Thus, we went straight to had our lunch. i had laksa Sarawak for the first time there. It taste totally different from laksa Johor or Laksa Assam. Right after that, we shoot to Semenggoh Nature Reserve for Orang Utan.

Orang Utan at this place mainly wild or semi-wild. They come to eat or outside from the jungle area freely. We were lucky that day as around 8 orang utan came down to eat and milk during their meal time. According to the person in charge, there had been cases where no orang utan came for meal .
So maybe it is a blessing for us, to see them up close. We spent around 2 hours here and straight to Pasar Satok.

Pasar Satok open until 10pm on Saturday. We bought bunch of kek lapis. i think kek lapis here are better than those famous one and they are a lot cheaper too. Crunchy soft shell crab, had it right after being fried with only RM2. i feel in love with their seafood. I bought Sarawak Batik Caftan for my  mom and Shasha.

We ended our first day by stuffing our stomach with lots of food!

Second day start with trip to Pasar Sarikin in Bau. It was located 1.5 hours from Kuchng. We consider very lucky as we get the front parking and the day was a lilcloudy. Thus, be free from hot sunny sunshine. Next, we headed to Fairy Cave, as can be seen above, the stairs to the entrance was very.. spooky. However....

We used up half day to linger around this cave. It was spooky to enter but breath-taking scenery from inside. We had nice time there.

After exploring Fairy Cave until we drop, we had a smoothing coconut drink right in front of the entrance. Soothing and refreshing. Next, we headed to Wind Cave, It was dark and lots of bats. Scary yet worth it. Did i mention the entrance fees for both were only RM1 / each.

Final day, spend with rooming around the river and across  waterfront for Kek Lapis and Ikan Terubok . Then, we headed straight to the airport. That basically how my energy drain. tiring and slept all the way in the plane.

Thanks, Hope to travel soon.
